BURTON BRADSTOCK PARISH COUNCIL
Items for the meeting with Chief Executives of DCC and WDDC to be held in the Reading Room, Burton Bradstock on Monday 15th November at 7.30pm.
1. Planning Issues:
a) What is the current structure in terms of timing and requests for observations from Parish Councils?
b) Amendments to planning applications rarely have the detail of the amendment written on the notification; can this be looked at so that the Parish Council is aware of the change?
c) What is the significance of the Parish Plan within both of the two local government authorities? ( Burton Bradstock is currently updating its Parish Plan)
2. Financial:
a) The current timing for setting the Precept is sometimes difficult for the Parish Council to meet, can this be looked at?
b) Who would meet the costs of referendums if they were required by the ÔBig SocietyÕ?
c) What do you think the impact of the Comprehensive Spending Review will be on local services?
3. Housing:
a) The Parish Council has a perception that social and affordable housing lettings in the Parish do not go to local people. What local letting policies does WDDC have and how are the results of its lettings publicised?
How as WDDC responded to the GovernmentÕs Fair and Flexible guidance issued in December 2009, in particular to the references to enhancing local lettings policies?
4. Miscellaneous:
a) The Council is concerned about the maintenance of finger posts.
b) The Council is concerned about the lack of attendance by local government staff at weekend activities.
